How to use Webex Events

How do you join a Webex event?

You will need to register for LCTL Career Fair here as an attendee. A link to the Webex event will be sent to the email address you provided when registering along with a confirmation of your registration. To join the event simply click the event link you receive and select “join” upon reaching the event landing page in your browser. We recommend joining the LCTL Career Fair through Webex for the most interactive experience.

Which browsers are compatible with Webex?

Attendees can access Webex Events through most browsers. Internet Explorer, Microsoft Edge, Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Safari, or Chromium on Linux are supported by the web app. Other browsers are not compatible. Additional support can be found at Webex Help: Supported Operating Systems and Browsers.

How does Webex audio and video work?

Attendees will automatically be muted and their video will be turned off upon entering the event. Before joining a meeting, plug in any external devices (headset, headset with mic, or external speaker). The instructions for connecting with audio and video via desktop, mobile devices, or the web are available at Webex Help: Audio and Video Settings.

If you are not hearing sound, be sure you are connected to the audio conference. When connected, a phone or headset icon should appear next to your name in the “Participants” panel. Additional support for Webex audio can be found at Webex Help: Audio Troubleshooting.

How do I ask a question using the Q & A feature?

During the event, you can send your questions to all or specific panelists in a Q & A session. Simply open the Q & A panel, type your question and select “Send.” Additional instructions are available at Webex Help: Participate in a Question and Answer Session.

What do all the buttons at the bottom of my screen mean?

From left to right, the icons allow you to mute and unmute yourself, start your video, share content, record, view participants, chat, access more options and leave the event.
